Global Virtual Desktop – Pandemic Prep

A Global Insurance firm sought to modernize its 75,000-person workforce while mitigating business continuity risks. By designing and prototyping a Global Virtual Desktop (VDI) infrastructure, the team established a centralized delivery model that ensured “Sovereignty of Location,” allowing the business to operate regardless of physical access to the office.

CONTEXT (THE BLOCKAGE)

Global Insurance Giant required a strategy to modernize its 75,000-person workforce while mitigating business continuity risks associated with global disruptions.

THE ACTION

Led the design and prototyping of a Global Virtual Desktop (VDI) infrastructure, working with Distinguished Engineers to create a centralized delivery model.

THE RESULT

Implemented the solution for 5,000 users initially; the architectural patterns were later reused at Other Major Financial Institutions.

VDI is rarely about cost-saving; it is about Sovereignty of Location—ensuring the business operates regardless of physical access to the office.
